Tampa and St. Petersburg had some of the hotter housing markets among the nation’s 100 largest in July.

In a recent report from RealtyHop, Tampa ranked as the 45th hottest market, while St. Pete ranked as the 53rd — making them the third and fourth hottest markets in Florida, respectively.

Those rankings are based on each market’s median price change, the change in original listed price and final sale price, as well as median price change of its total sales price.

A home seller in Tampa had to decrease their asking price by $10,000 to sell, a 2.64 percent decrease. That change helped the city move up five spots from No. 50.

In St. Pete, home sellers had to decrease their asking price by $9,800, a 2.78 percent decrease. That change move the Sunshine City down seven spots from No. 46.

Jacksonville had the hottest market in Florida coming in at No. 35. Orlando followed closely behind at No. 38. Hialeah ranked at No. 76 followed by Miami at No. 92.

Arizona had four of the five hottest markets with Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa and Glendale at Nos. 1, 2, 4 and 5. Henderson, Nevada ranked at No. 3. Conversely, Detroit; Cleveland; Buffalo, New York; San Francisco and Laredo, Texas had the coldest markets.
