The Westshore Marina District on Florida's Gulf Coast is getting a waterfront restaurant.

BTI Partners, master developer of the roughly 1,200-unit project in South Tampa, said it sold a 1.6-acre site at Bridge Street and Gandy Boulevard to D&G WMD for $2.43 million.

Principals David and Ginger Willis are partnering with Scott Tashkin and Karina Tashkin on the Paloma restaurant and plan to open in time for the Super Bowl in Tampa in February 2021. This will be the first Paloma restaurant, which is expected to feature an "elegant, coastal atmosphere with a diverse menu," Karina Tashkin said in a statement.

The restaurant will include a bar, pavilion and a second-level patio for special events. Diners can arrive by boat.

Other announced retailers at Westshore Marina District include Duckweed Urban Market, Cru Cellars, Crave Spa, Salon Color Bar, Sand Surf Co., DRNK coffee + tea and Qwench juice bar.

BTI, based in Fort Lauderdale, has sold parcels at the 52-acre development to Related Group, WCI Communities and Bainbridge Cos. for luxury townhouses and apartments. Residents began moving in this year.

In September, BTI started site work on the first of three condominium towers. The first building is expected to include 113 units and seven townhouses priced from $700,000 to more than $2 million. Construction on the first tower is slated to be complete by late 2021.
