TAMPA - The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority signed off Thursday on two proposed apartment towers that would rise 41 and 27 stories above downtown Tampa.

"We did not identify any impacts to any of our air space,” said Tony Mantegna, the aviation authority's height, zoning and land use manager, or to Peter O. Knight Airport, which is less than 2 miles from the towers.

Of the 487 apartments in the 41-story Seasons Apartments tower, 80 percent will be "micro apartments” of 580 square feet or less. The tower also will include a 379-car garage, connected to the neighboring Seasons Suites by a pedestrian bridge.

The towers, at 476 feet and 323 feet tall, have been proposed near the intersection of E Whiting and N Morgan streets by Tampa Downtown Invest LTD, a subsidiary of the German real estate development company Dr. Schrobsdorff & Dr. Herrmann, with design work by Jahn Architecture of Chicago. No construction schedule has been announced.
