New five-story hotel with restaurant proposed in Lakewood Ranch Town Center

A Sarasota developer is proposing a new hotel and restaurant in Lakewood Ranch Town Center.

Floridays Development Co. has filed plans with the Southwest Florida Water Management District for a 118-room, five-story hotel and 7,000-square-foot restaurant near the intersection of Resource Way and Exchange Way, with frontage along Interstate 75.

The 4.55-acre site is next to existing hotels including the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Sarasota and the Hyatt Place Sarasota/Lakewood Ranch.

An executive with Floridays did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday.

The new commercial development follows the robust residential growth in Lakewood Ranch. With 1,482 net sales in 2018, it is the No. 2 top-selling master-planned community in the U.S., according to John Burns Real Estate Consulting.
