$26 million ranch in Southwest Florida listed for sale

A ranch property that spans more than 4,000 acres in Southwest Florida has been listed for sale for $26 million.

The BR Ranch is in DeSoto County, less than two hours from Tampa. It is southeast of Sarasota and north of Punta Gorda. The ranch includes two houses, a 2,900-square-foot lodge and a 3,037-square-foot ranch house.

Jon Kohler & Associates, based in the Florida Panhandle, is listing the property for sale. The seller is Naples developer Michael Boran.

The ranch has been used for hunting expeditions, with Osceola turkey, deer, wild hog and wild and released quail on site. It also has equestrian facilities, including two horse barns and a working arena and rodeo pen. There are also equipment barns, storage sheds and dog kennels.

A portion of the property is also income producing: around 300 acres are currently leased at $500 per acre, according to the listing.

Billionaire Brad Kelley, creator of discount cigarette brands Bull Durham and USA Gold, owns the neighboring ranch.
