Veteran banker and nonprofit leader joins the C-suite at Tampa Hillsborough EDC

A former South Tampa market manager for NorthStar Bank has joined the leadership team at the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp.

Mark Segel has been named chief administrative officer and senior vice president, effective Jan. 3.

Segel has nearly 20 years of banking experience and eight years of nonprofit leadership experience, according to a statement.

He has served in leadership roles in the Central Florida Jewish Federation System, including executive director of the Jewish Federation of Pinellas and Pasco Counties, the Tampa Orlando Pinellas Jewish Foundation and the Tampa Jewish Community Center and Federation.

He also has served in business development roles at Bank of America, Bank of Tampa and Fifth Third Bank.

Segel will report directly to EDC CEO and President Craig J. Richard.

The Tampa Hillsborough EDC is the lead designated economic development agency for Hillsborough County and the cities of Tampa, Plant City, and Temple Terrace.
