Tampa's Robbins Property Associates buy 12 apartment complexes worth $400 million

Tampa-based Robbins Property Associates and an investment partner have acquired 12 apartment communities in Virginia and North Carolina valued at a total of more than $400 million.

All but one of the complexes are in the fast-growing Charlotte and Raleigh areas. Ranging in size from 162 to 462 units, they will undergo multi-million makeovers including new kitchens, baths and floorings.

Robbins and its partner, Electra America of Palm Beach, own and manage 57 complexes with a total of 16,689 units in Florida, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland. They have several communities in the Tampa Bay area.

The price of the most recent acquisitions was not announced.
