Topgolf opening Orlando location

Topgolf Entertainment Group announced plans to open a new Topgolf facility near International Drive in 2017.

The company, which revealed its plans Jan. 28 during the PGA Merchandise Show currently being held in Orlando, said the facility will be 65,000 square feet at Convention Way and Universal Boulevard, and will begin construction in February. The facility has been in the works since last September.

The three-level location will include up to 3,000 square feet of private event space and 102 climate-controlled hitting bays that can host up to six players at one time. Up to 450,000 visitors are expected to visit the Orlando Topgolf facility in its first year in operation.

Topgolf opened a three-story, 65,000 square foot complex in Brandon in late 2014, where the TBBJ hosted its Best Places to Work event in 2015.
