Sembler, Forge snap up Publix-anchored center in St. Pete

Sembler Co. and Forge Capital Partners, through its Forge Real Estate Partners III (FREP) investment fund, have teamed up to buy a shopping center in Sembler's hometown.

St. Petersburg-based Sembler said Wednesday that the partnership had acquired Disston Plaza, a 123,000-square-foot shopping center anchored by Publix Super Markets Inc., through its

It is at 49th St. North and 38th Ave. N., and is 98 percent occupied. Other tenants include Beall's Outlet and Dollar Tree. "Disston Plaza is a perfect fit for our fund. Not only is it a great in-fill location in the heart of St. Petersburg, but it's a highly visible, stable property – which has been serving the community since the 1960s – and has great long-term redevelopment potential,” Sembler CEO Ron Wheeler said in a statement.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
