A recent listing in Westshore Yacht Club shows how far Tampa Bay's luxury housing market has come in the last five years.

The 6,681-square-foot waterfront home at 6021 Beacon Shores St. hit the market last week, listed at $3.3 million. Jennifer Zales, an agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate, has the listing. The sellers - Gordon Troy and Julie Simpson, according to Hillsborough County property records - purchased the home from the original developer in 2010 for $950,000.

The sellers upgraded the home after purchasing it, Zales said. It has five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, a rear lanai with an outdoor kitchen and an infinity pool. It also includes an elevator and a third-floor game room with a built-in wet bar, among other amenities. Click through the photos for a tour of the home.

"This property stands out as one of the largest, newest and most upgraded bayfront luxury homes in the Westshore/South Tampa market at a highly competitive price point," she said.

Demand for luxury waterfront homes on Tampa Bay has been rising steadily, with prices going up as supply dwindles.

In the Sept. 18 edition of the Tampa Bay Business Journal, we're taking a look at the region's custom homebuilding market.

Zales also has the listing for 4621 Bayshore Blvd., a 100-year-old mansion on the market for $13.9 million.
