Vacant waterfront lot in Sarasota fetches nearly $4M

A St. Petersburg buyer has paid $3.7 million for a vacant residential lot on Sarasota County's Casey Key.

Lex Partners LLC, an entity tied to Susan Poskus, owner of accounting firm Roberge Poskus International, closed on the 1.5-acre lot at 728 N. Casey Key Road in mid-June, according to Sarasota County property records.

Nicole Hammons-Dovgopolyi and Thomas Stone of Michael Saunders & Co., a Sarasota brokerage firm, represented the seller, Jim O'Neill. O'Neill paid $766,700 for the lot in 2004, according to property records.

Stephanie Church, also of Michael Saunders & Co., represented Lex Partners.

A nearby vacant lot on North Casey Key Road, at 1.23 acres, is scheduled to close next week for $3 million, a Michael Saunders spokeswoman said.

With increasing demand and few homes for sale in Tampa Bay's luxury market, buyers are increasingly turning to new construction, which generates new tax revenue and creates construction jobs.
