RETURN TO NEWS INDEX New apartment development planned near West Shore and Gandy ABC Capital Corp. is asking the city to rezone a 5.2-acre parcel of land at 5320 South West Shore Boulevard, where West Tyson and West Pearl avenues intersect with the boulevard. The site is about a quarter mile south of the intersection of West Shore and Gandy boulevards.
The plans are for 188 apartments, 20 of which will be efficiency units, said John Grandoff, a partner with Hill Ward Henderson in Tampa. Grandoff is representing ABC in the rezoning process. The community will have 324 parking spaces in a surface lot.
Rents are subject to change based on the market, Grandoff said, but the efficiencies could start at $1,000 per month and two-bedroom units could start around $2,000 per month.
"Land is becoming more scarce north of Gandy for multifamily," Grandoff said, "and it's a little more plentiful and affordable and it makes economic sense south of Gandy." |
