RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Miami law firm leases big block of office space in downtown Tampa The Miami law firm has signed a 10-year lease for more than 20,000 square feet in the Bank of America Plaza - the entire 19th floor. The firm expects to take occupancy in the fall, according to a statement.
The lease is a large office deal for Tampa Bay, where the majority of office tenants occupy between 10,000 and 15,000 square feet. It's also good news for Tampa's urban core, which is anchored by its office market. The downtown office market creates the foundation of other activity in the core, from residential to retail, and both markets are on an upswing.
Greenberg Traurig is currently in a smaller downtown office building at 625 E. Twiggs St.
Jack K. Hoskins Jr., senior vice president and leader of CBRE Group Inc. tenant representation services in Tampa, represented Greenberg Traurig in the transaction.
"Our new location will help us work more efficiently in space that facilitates teamwork and collaboration,†said David B. Weinstein, Tampa managing shareholder, in a statement. "It also will support the growth we anticipate for the region, our clients, and our firm."
The law firm isn't the only company to expand in downtown Tampa. Total Quality Logistics, which signed an office lease on Harbour Island in late 2014, said this week that it would more than double its downtown workforce by the end of 2017.
