Movie theater planned for Riverview

A national movie theater chain, Goodrich Quality Theaters, announced plans to open a megaplex in Riverview. The 14-screen theater is set to be built near Interstate 75 and Gibsonton Road, the Tampa Tribune said. The theaters will be equipped with 80-foot screens and electric, reclining seats with footrests.

"The comfort and the sound and the screen size will be better than anything anyone is used to," said Martin Betz, chief operating officer of Goodrich.

The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based company has 29 theaters in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri. This will be the company's first theater in Florida, the Tribune said. Developers hope to open it by Thanksgiving 2015.
