Goody Goody! Richard Gonzmart acquires Tampa's iconic burger brand

Goody Goody, Tampa's most iconic homegrown burger joint, has found new life. Richard Gonzmart - president and co-owner of the Columbia Restaurant, Cha Cha Coconuts and new, much-ballyhooed Ulele - has acquired Goody Goody from its longtime owner Mike Wheeler.

Gonzmart purchased rights to the Goody Goody name, as well as the recipe for the restaurant's famous secret sauce and some furniture, including the distinctive Goody Goody sign.

The restaurant closed in 2005 and the blocky building on Florida Avenue downtown was demolished the following year.
